The Blog Spot

This week I am discussing the need to be able to “focus” our energy and our time in order to acheive lofty goals. So many people allow themselves to be distracted and they never put enough enregy or “focus” towards accomplishing the goals they set out for themselves. Vince Lombardi said “success requires a singleness of purpose.” A great way to apply this principle is to define your goals and then to develop your “to do list” in order to only do the things that will get you to your goals. If there is a task or activity that is not going to help get you to your spiritual, relational, emotional, physical or financial goals then it should be moved to the bottom or taken off of your “to do list.” This will help to keep you focused and give you a singleness of purpose.

This week the success principle is “feedback.” What I mean by “feedback” is getting input from those around us in order to not only identify problem areas, but to resolve the problems and/or improve areas of our lives. Coaches, trainers, pastors, therapists, these are all examples of the type of people we may turn to for “feedback.”

Blogging on a regular basis has proven to be more diffucult for me than I thought. I’m trying to look within and figure out why I have had so much trouble with this simple task that takes so little time. In my intrrospection I think I have figured out why this has been so hard for me. It all goes back to my nemesis EGO! You may be wondering what I mean by this last statement. My ego is where fear and insecurity comes from (along with many other character defects.) I think I am concerned that nobody is really following what I’m blogging about anyway, so why bother. I am also concerned that what I am writing about may not be of interest, so why bother. All of this is about fear and my ego. So what’s the solution???? Make the blog interesting and from the heart and perhaps a few people will be intersted. Take the time to gather interesting data and make the blog about more than just my random thoughts. And finally, stop worrying about what everyone thinks and move forward. How’s that for this week’s blog!?!?! It’s as real as I can get. Btw, this is the life of an author trying to find his way through the maze of being an author and social media.
